A Call

It's rings. You get excited. You look at the screen. You get giddy to see someone is calling you. It's that happy feeling you get when you receive and unexpected call. That's what I got tonight. My friend Jay called me out of the blue. We've been friends all through college and he's helped me through some tough times. He's become a big brother to me and he recently got married to an amazing girl. Well he called tonight to just check up on me. He's done this before. And usually it's when I need it. Tonight was the Christmas Fireside for IWA. And it was emotional because it's the end (that's for another post) so it was nice to have an uplifting call realizing a friend was out there wanting to genuinely know how my life was and check up on me. So thank you Jay for phone calls like tonight. And thank you to everyone else who brings me delight in spontaneous phone calls!!!
