You've Got Mail

So growing up, I never really had a "REAL" mailbox.  It was either a mailbox in a community place, aka not by my house, or a little box with a key.  One day during my freshman year while strolling through Lowe's, (Yes I did just stroll through Lowe's, I don't think we bought anything. (Fun date idea) )  I decided that I wanted to live somewhere where I could have a "REAL" mailbox.  Of course, the one I liked was the most expensive.  Well guess what.... It came true.
I now have one, and today I used it for the first time.

I put my two little envelopes in, closed the door and put the red flag up! Oh man. It was exciting. And what's funny. You know what came to my mind when I did this.  The mailbox scene from "The Lake House"

Sadly, when I put the flag up. It didn't magically go down, and there wasn't a letter from someone in the past. But anywho, it was still a delightful part of my day!  Hopefully someday there will be something for me in the little mailbox of mine :)

Crackle me Up

If you didn't know. I love having painted toe nails and finger nails.  I especially love when they are painted almost to perfection.  I went through a phase when I first moved during my senior year, where I would paint my fingernails almost every day. I would start completely over.  Once one chipped, all the paint would come off and a new color would come back on.  I've had long nails, short nails, plain nails, colorful nails, real nails and fake nails.  Well today.... I found a new polish.  Sally Hansen Crackle Topcoat!

They are SO much fun. And it was fun to watch them crack right in from of me. Today I tried black nails with gold crackle on top.  Let's just say, they are pretty snazzy!

Organ donor

So I had a great weekend.  Even with the major roller-coaster of a week I had, it ended very well.  I had the chance to go to my new roommates wedding reception ( She looked BEAUTIFUL and even with only living with her for a week, I'll miss her), spending time with a friend from HS and the cutest little niece, I LOVE HER! Going to lunch with my friends from Logan, and ending it with much needed time with my cousin. Overall a great weekend.  Well, I was spontaneous this weekend.  I bought this beauty.

In case you can't tell, that my friends is an organ. Yup, I bought an organ. It was at a garage sale outside the restaurant we went to for lunch and I bought it.  The garage sale was for a charity for Epilepsy, and they said someone donated it and it's been in their office for 5 years.  Needless to say, they were more excited I bought it than I was.  Now, I'm not sure how I am getting it to my house, or where am I going to put it. But I am now the proud owner of an organ :)

Rain

Some days are like today, where it just seems to constantly rain in your life.  You feel lost and alone in all the world around you.  And sometimes it just hurts.  But I need to remember that I can be stronger, I can find the strength.

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain."

So here's to learning to dance in the rain!

Strength

We all find strength in different ways.  And sometimes, at least for me, I am sometimes surprised from the strength that I actually have.  Not physical strength, but mental strength, spiritual strength, and emotional strength.   A good quote about strength. (sorry couldn't find you said it)

"You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have."
Things that give me strength:

My family
The Scriptures
Institute
Music
Friends
Roommates

So what sparked this post. Was this amazing song....

(sorry video upload not working)

I was driving home from work and this came on the radio.  I loved it! And so, here came this post.  Every day we get a little bit stronger. And that's what is important.

You are my Sunshine

For all my friends up north in Utah.... I have some great news.  I have figured out where the sun has been all spring. It's been hiding in Arizona.  It was very welcoming when I got off the plane. And the clouds were even helpful by disappearing this morning so I could fully enjoy and rekindle my friendship with the dear sunshine.  I mean, it has been some time since I've seen him.  I decided to capture it on film to prove I had found the sun (mostly for JJ)

It's not the best, mostly because we were driving on the freeway and it was taken with my phone.  But none the less..... I have found the Sun!!!!

Change

Change

It's something that happens and we can't really help it. And right now, everything seems to be changing.  The semester is over. My walls are blank. Boxes are everywhere.  And life changes. And that scares me.  I like my comfortable box where I know how everything will go. So there are bumps here and there, but there's a routine. Well, my routine just got placed in a blender.  I am starting a new job, in a new town, with new roommates, in a new ward.... scary.  Yes, it will be an adventure. And yes, at the end of it, I will be so thankful for it, but on this end, it's sometimes hard to always think positively about that.

But here goes to starting a new chapter in the book of life. Finding joy in the small things, and happiness in the new things.
