Dear Boys

So to be honest, I've wanted to do a post like this for awhile, copy Elise's Pieces, because pretty much she is awesome and I love her. Well now, she's asked all of her blog stalkers to follow in her footsteps. I'm officially doing my first Link Party! I may be an official blogger now :) Yippee!

Dear Thompson Square,

You've kinda been on my mind.  Let's sing the duet again, can we?

Love,
MJ

Dear Friends for now,

You may have waited too long and missed your chance. I'm sorry.

Love,
MJ

Dear Man of the Decade,

I've been waiting forever, and now I'm done waiting.

Love,
MJ

Dear Football,

You leave and come back, rinse and repeat. Sometimes I get confused, and I think I confuse you.

Love,
MJ

Dear BB,

Things are weird, it's my fault.

Love,
MJ

Dear Canoe,

You're good looking.  Just thought I'd let you know

Love,

Picnic Time

Do you know what you get if you google picnic? Wikipedi gives you this. Kinda funny, if I say so myself.  So here's Updated D from last post.

We, Matt and I, went on a picnic.  And according to the previous definition, I feel like it met all the requirements, or at least most of them.  It was a pleasure excursion where we ate a meal outside, in a beautiful landscape.   There was no lake, but we ate by a creek, that should count, shouldn't it?  And the interesting view: people playing baseball, an old man taking a walk, and a couple taking engagements.  Yup, pretty sure it fits the description.

Me and My Picnic Buddy

It was so fun to just sit and enjoy the summer.  There weather was perfect. Beautiful blue skies.  And staring up at the tress was so delightful.  Matt calls this earthing/grounding yourself.  Every so often you just have to connect with Mother Earth.  It's quite nice to just relax and enjoying the outdoors.

That's just one of the amazing dates I've been on lately.  It's really made me enjoy this summer, so part of me doesn't want summer to end.   It's really given me something to delight in!

In Joy

Can I just say that I am really enjoying life right now! Seriously, summer should have been like this all summer. Minus the whole not blogging so much, but otherwise it's pretty dang good. One day, and hopefully soon I can really update why life has been so amazing, but here's a sneak peak

a) Celine Dion Concert - AMAZING!!!!!
b) Horseback riding - I'm in love with Horses!
c) Thompson Square live - Country music duo who sings "Are You Going to Kiss Me or Not"
d) Some great dates - :D Big Smiles here
e) Home-cooked meals - YUM!
f) Watching "Hercules" - yes again
g) Chalk drawings - Pretty good drawings if I must say so myself, and they weren't all mine :)
h) Spending time with some great people! - What can get better than that?!

Pretty much, life is great! or as my good friend from HS would say, AMAZING! and guess what it keeps getting better.... this week I have a mini road trip planned (an evening trip) and then dinner and temple trip another day.  Pretty much AMAZING!

So life is good, I'm "In Joy" while living it, and my soul is delighting! I hope that you having joy in life this summer. Let's hope soon I can really tell you why I delight in all of the things above, but until next time... Find some joy and spread it to the world.

Around the World

So the other morning I was getting ready, and my phone rang.  Nothing too exciting, except for one thing. Who was calling.  It was my friend Trevor. Okay, so you're thinking to yourself what's so cool about him. Well let me tell you, he's in Thailand.... yup, that is right. I had a phone call that morning from Thailand. Pretty neat way to start off your week I'd say, wouldn't you? I've actually got to talk to him twice, and pretty sure both were from Thailand. Kinda weird thinking that you are talking to someone half way across the world. But so cool at the same time. Trevor and his friend Dan are traveling the world. Ten week adventure, that I'm way jealous about.

Now for somewhere else.  I have had this urge to watch Disney's "Hercules" for months now. But everyone I asked didn't have a copy. Sad day.  So last week I finally bought it, and tonight I'm having a blast in Greece, (I'm watching it) seriously this movie is great! Mostly I love the songs. I have two on my iPod, that's what makes me want to watch the movie.  Plus, Disney movies are just fantastic, wouldn't you say? Nothing is better.

So whether you're spending time in Thailand, Greece, or somewhere else fabulous, I hope that you have a great day!

I'm Here

Okay, So I feel like I've been MIA for a while... okay two weeks. Stuff just came up. Lame sauce excuse I know, but that's what you're getting.

Here's what you've missed.

-Trip Home and found some sunshine
-Vegas trip and spent some time with a great friend :D (Highlight of the trip)
-Roommate bonding time
-Procrastination of grocery shopping and my boss noticing (oops)
-A great pair of snake skin heels from Target

And now the present....

So life this week. I decided maybe it's time I think about the future.  I started apply to GRAD school!!!

SCARY!!! I definitely cannot be old enough to be going to Grad school, but my transcript would beg to differ.

Well along with applying there's this test I have to take, the GRE. Well, being the spontaneous person I am (I know some of you who really know me are laughing right now) I decided to take the GRE, and on Saturday. Ya, a total of 5 whole days from the day I registered to the day I'll take it, actually less if you count hours.  So here's to hoping I don't bomb it too bad.  I'm hoping some smarts get into me by then, I do magnificent, and don't have to retake and get into all the colleges of my choice. Life would just be grand :D

So my most of my free time has been spent studying.  Only most because my brain can only handle so much.  Vocab, vocab and more vocab, oh let's throw in some math, math, vocab.... Rinse and Repeat!  I've been studying roots of the English language to help with vocab.  What gets me is that some roots have the same meaning. I feel like 3 or more mean name.... and one that is name also means something else. Ridiculous!  But, just think how great my expanse of vocabulary will be by Saturday! lol

That's My Life

Sometimes I feel like my life is a movie or a song...

Of course when I think of this, "If We Were a Movie" comes to mind by Miley, I mean Hannah Montana.

But sometimes don't you feel that way.  I hear a song, and think, oh my goodness that is my life right now. Or lots of times too, I wish that was my life. :D But seriously, The last few days that has happened. I was telling my roommate about my weekend, and she related it to a movie.  Also, a song has been somewhat stuck in my head today, yup, it's because subconsciously it's about what's going on in my life.

Sometimes I also feel like music knows how we feel. For instance, one day last year I was kind of having a rough day. Things were not going to plan. I was up studying in the lab and turned on Pandora. And what's the first song that comes on....

"Bad Day" by Daniel Powter. Of course, most times it's better when music knows you. But this particular instance I felt like Pandora was mocking me. Now it's funny :D

I thought at one point in my life that my life would make a great book. And you know what happens to great books, they turn into movies. Sad thing is, those movies already exist. Hence, my life is a movie sometimes.

Yes, so this may seem all random and weird to you. But right now, it's how I'm feeling, my life is being expressed everyday on the radio and in the theaters. Look I'm everywhere :D (not really) But it kinda makes me happy. Plus, they (the artists and actors) are much better and portraying my life, or what I want my life to be.  I delight in all this, and I hope you delight in seeing and hearing your life on the radio and in theaters too!

Avi

Meet Avi. She is my Uncle Michael's chocolate lab. This weekend Avi and I had some bonding time.

I gave my very first dog a bath.  I was just chillin' at my grandparents and decided Avi needed a bath.  For being a well behaved dog, I did have to put her on a leash so she didn't leave with shampoo all over her.  It was a lot of fun. She even did the dog thing, and shake the water and shampoo off, and yes it got on me.  Afterwards, Avi and I took a nice walk to my aunt's house.

Me and Avi after her bath. It took a couple pictures to get her looking at the camera.

But I did decided after this delightful night, I think I want a dog. Like when I graduate and have my own place.  They really are man's best friend.  It's better and I think easier to actually interact with them.  Plus, they listen much better than cats :)
